Beating the heat

Summer is here! Benton has been having a great time playing with his dad every day. We're anticipating serious withdrawal when school starts back in August. Guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.


Crazy hot weather means spending most days in just a diaper. It also means fun ways to beat the heat, like popsicles.

He even tried climbing in the cooler. Too bad it was empty.

In preparation for our drive to Florida next week, we said goodbye to the infant carseat and got a new big boy one. The box is obviously way more fun.

Last week, Benton took a trip to visit Granny C and he also got to go with her to Alabama. Little traveling baby gets around. Granny's house was exciting, complete with his first chocolate chip cookie and a go at the drumset.

We're ready for vacation! Six days and counting...
