Three

Now that our son has been three for two months, I'm finally getting around to posting about his birthday. Worst blogger ever.

Benton had a sports party this year -- although based on the gifts he received we could also call it the year of the ninja turtles. Very high TMNT:everything else ratio. He was in mutant heaven.

Our neighborhood has a really cool open-air gathering place that we were able to use for the festivities. We had Benton's basketball, t-ball, soccer and bowling games set up and lots of balls to throw. But, let's be honest, a party is really about the food. Our 'concession stand' had hot dogs, chips, fruit and fresh popcorn made by Papa Joe. Aunt Sunny made awesome basketball and baseball cupcakes and dipped marshmallows for the sweets table. We also had a candy buffet so people could take home Benton's favorite treats.

Thanks to all of our wonderful families, Hillside neighbors and great friends for coming to celebrate with us. It was so good to have everyone together. Our kids are blessed to have you all in their lives!

It's hard to believe that our baby girl will be turning one in three weeks. I'm convinced that if I procrastinate planning her party she will just stay a baby forever. Yes?
